Georgie – Qualified Forest School Assistant 2011 and became a Qualified Leader in 2014, working with a variety of long term and short term groups of varying ages – from parent and toddler groups to days with the Women’s Institute. From 2016 to 2018 she embarked on a journey of Nature Culture Regeneration – following the 8 shields model of Nature Connection, which is steeped in indigenous cultures from around the world. Since then has become a Therapeutic Forest Practitioner. Her hobbies are spinning and weaving using Navajo and Backstrap looms made from sticks.

Lobby spent 20 years as an outdoor activity instructor before moving into mainstream education as a pastoral lead, helping struggling teenagers and their families. He became a forest school leader and eventually left mainstream education to work full time in the woods with Georgie and has now discovered a love of working with wood and is on a continuing journey learning many of the traditional green woodworking crafts and bushcraft skills.


The woodland works

On the western edge of the Bannau Brecheiniog National Park under the Black Mountain, The Woodland Works is set within a magical mosaic of ancient oak woodland and meadows along side the Sawdde Fechan as it tumbles down its gorge to join the tributaries of the Tawe.

Here we have set up our centre where you can learn new skills, have fun, make friends and reconnect with yourself and the land in the loving embrace of the natural world.
