What is Forest School?
Forest school is a person centred experiential learning style suitable for all ages. Too many people associate forest school with primary school only, but experiential learning in the outdoors is good for all of us whatever your age from toddlers to Grand parents!
Forest School helps to develop confidence and self esteem through experiential learning within the Natural world. It’s an holistic approach that enables physical and emotional well being to become healthy, resilient and creative.
The types of activities that can be done are endless – from den building, making rope ladders, exploring, identifying and photographing the varied flora and fauna, cooking on the camp fire and whittling just to name a few.

The Woodland Works Forest School Site

Our Forest School Base Camp is set among the ancient oaks, with a log circle and a camp fire to gather around, underneath an awning providing us shelter whatever the weather. It is a 10 minute minute walk from the car park through the woodland and meadows. Although it may take longer as you never know how much exploring is going to be done along the way.
We can cater for Home Ed, School, and Parent and toddler groups
