Backstrap Weaving Workshop
Saturday 13th September 2025

This workshop introduces an ancient weaving technique that is used worldwide and passed down through the generations from centuries ago.
The back strap loom is a portable, simple and low cost loom and I’ve incorporated the use of a rigid heddle to make it even easier to use. The uniqueness of the loom is how the weaver forms an integral part, creating the necessary tension for the fibres to be woven. Making the connection between weaver and fabric flow.
